Production Chemical Dosing System
Every producing well runs on a steady drip of chemistry, scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, demulsifiers, biocides, and H2S scavengers. When those chemicals don’t disperse evenly at the injection point, they don’t work. AquaShear’s production chemical dosing system delivers instant, uniform dispersion in a single pass, so every drop of chemical reaches the fluid it’s meant to protect.
What Production Chemical Dosing Actually Requires
Production chemicals work where they make contact. A scale inhibitor has to reach the pipe wall where scale forms. A demulsifier has to coat the oil-water interface in every droplet. A corrosion inhibitor has to wet the tubular surface uniformly. Uneven dispersion means the chemistry is doing its job in part of the line and nothing in the rest.
The flow rates involved make this hard. Operators routinely inject a gallon per hour of chemical into a stream moving thousands of barrels per day. Without real mixing at the injection point, the chemical streaks down one side of the pipe for a long distance before diffusion does the work.

Why Standard Injection Setups Fall Short
Most production chemical injection setups rely on a dosing pump, an injection quill, and hope. Some add a static mixer downstream to help with dispersion, but static mixers depend on flow rate to perform. At turndown or variable rates, they underperform. Static mixers also create pressure drop the operator has to live with for the life of the line.
Mechanical inline mixers solve the dispersion problem but introduce moving parts, seals, and bearings into corrosive chemistry service. That means regular maintenance in places nobody wants to shut in.

How AquaShear Disperses Production Chemicals in a Single Pass
The AquaShear chamber has no moving parts. Opposing streams of produced fluid and injection chemical collide through precision-aligned nozzles and generate a controlled vortex that distributes the chemical uniformly across the pipe cross-section before the fluid leaves the chamber. No streaks, no downstream mixing length, no permanent pressure drop penalty.
For corrosive production chemical service, AquaShear units are built in 316 stainless steel with Delrin nozzle disks and Viton gaskets. That combination handles H2S scavengers, acid-based scale inhibitors, amine corrosion inhibitors, and the temperature and pressure swings common in field service. Units handle up to 250°F and 150 PSIG.

Proven in Corrosive Chemical Service
AquaShear units have run in production chemical, caustic, and acid service for over 20 years with no moving parts to replace. Quarterly maintenance is a 15-minute visual check, which matters on remote locations where every site visit costs money.

What We Need to Size Your System
Every AquaShear unit is built to the application. For a production chemical dosing quote, the AquaShear team will ask for the following.
- Total flow rate of the host stream, including water cut if known
- Chemical being injected and supplier
- Target dose rate
- Injection point and downstream process
- Operating pressure, temperature, and fluid chemistry including CO2 and H2S content
- Materials preference or constraints
Chamber sizes run from 1″ to 14″, with 316 stainless steel construction and matched nozzle and gasket materials standard for corrosive production chemical service. Lead time runs 6 to 12 weeks.
